Karen Martin, M.Ed.

Executive Director

Karen was born and raised in Ottawa and has always had a passion for helping others.  After obtaining her Masters in Education, she worked with the Children’s Aid Society for many years.  Karen left that sector to join Affinity Health, where she started as the Human Resources Manager overseeing the recruitment, training and evaluation of all caregivers at Affinity Health.  Karen excelled in her management skills and in 2013 took over the role of Executive Director, now managing all aspects of the operations, including Client Care and Human Resources.

Judy Heron

Client Care Manager

Judy has been actively involved in Health Care for over 25 years.  She started her career as a Nurses Aid in the early 80’s.  For the past 20 years she has worked with Affinity Health as a Case Manager.  Judy “has seen it all” during this time, overseeing the daily activities of the client care department and closely managing the care of thousands of clients over the years.

Judy says “Each day I have the privilege of working with a diverse group of clientele and employees. Helping seniors through challenging times and improving their lives is a passion, not just a job!”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][vc_column_text]

Barbara Davis, RPN

Client Care Manager

Born and raised in Ottawa, Barb began working as a Registered Practical Nurse in 2001, working in Long-Term Care and later in the retirement sector. She joined Affinity Health in 2010 as a Case Manager and plays an integral role in working with the clients and their families, as well as physicians and specialist.

Brittany Cook, RPN

Client Care Manager

Brittany graduated as a Registered Practical Nurse from Cambrian College in 2008, and then moved to Ottawa where she pursued a rewarding career working with seniors; primarily in the community setting. She joined Affinity Health in 2014 as a Client Care Manager and works closely with seniors and their families to develop a care plan that meets their individual needs.

Catherine Bennett, BSW.

Community Relations Manager

In 2001, Catherine Bennett graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Social Work.  Since this time, she has worked in various non-profit organizations working with vulnerable populations including seniors.  She worked at the Nepean Seniors Centre, Harmer House, The Arthritis Society, and TeamWork Cooperative whereby she assisted people with disabilities find meaningful work. Catherine started working at Affinity Health in 2014 as the Community Relations Manager.

Caridad Leyma

Finance Officer

Caridad came to Canada in 1990 with an education Bachelor of Commerce, with a passion for accounting.  She achieved her Accounting Diploma in Canada and started working in the accounting field in 1994.  Caridad joined Affinity Health in 2005 and has been managing all client and employee accounts from a financial perspective.

Caridad says “We have a really great group of people to work with, a pleasant work environment.  I love speaking with our clients and helping them through their questions and concerns.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
